Samantha believes good property management ensures that buildings are adequately maintained, and suites are rented out quickly. She communicates with caretakers to ensure the buildings are kept in mint condition, allowing them to be listed at the best possible market price when vacant.
Renting out suites to high-quality tenants is always a top priority for Samantha, and a well-kept building is often the best way to do that. A typical workday never really looks the same, which is one of her favourite parts of property management. But generally, her day consists of approving applications, following up to ensure renovations are being completed where needed, visiting sites, and communicating with maintenance workers and owners. Samantha’s motto is that When a property manager is in touch with the needs of a building, it’s easier to communicate with owners about the monthly financial statements, potential large–scale repairs required, and ways to make the property more marketable.
Samantha started as a property manager 11 years ago; she managed her rental properties and became a mortgage advisor. She wanted to transition into a more challenging property management role, which led her to this position as a Property Administrator. She is all about the pivot and growth, meaning she loves the things she has accomplished but constantly looks for opportunities to add to her portfolio. She thinks every relationship can be mutually symbiotic with open communication and aligns with people who feel the same. She is self–made and has worked incredibly hard to get where she is in life. Not everything has been a win, but she’s always found the silver lining in the failures.
